SZYMANOWSKI YEAR 2007

2007 the Szymanowski Quartet celebrated a very special jubilee: the 125th birthday as well as the 70th obit of the polish composer Karol Szymanowski, whom they were named after. Both of this composers String Quartets as well as his Nocturne & Tarantella form the central theme of several concert programs in the season 2007/08.

CONCERT SEASON 2007/2008
In this season the Szymanowski Quartet once more gives concerts in London, Warsaw, the USA, Canada, at the Rheingau and Lockenhaus Festival and for the first time also in the Musikverein in Vienna and in Tel Aviv.

RECORDINGS

Currently a Karol Szymanowski portrait is in progress: the ensemble is recording both String Quartets (Op. 37 and Op. 56) and the Nocturne & Tarantella of the polish composer. The CD will probably be released in the first half of 2008.

Already available is the newest CD of the ensemble "Pure Desmond & Szymanowski Quartet - The Meeting Of Minds". This recording is the result of the co-operation of both formations and calls into question traditional stylistic boundaries.
